The 9th episode of Top of the World welcomes Sydney based Indie Artist Lisa Caruso to the Program. Praised by Double J and the AU Review as having a stunning voice and pristinely perfect arrangements, we welcome her to this month’s episode as we discuss a transition from folk-country into indie and the change from acoustic guitar to electric guitar.
With a love of 60s folk and soul and a lover of Cat Power, the episode was spent navigating through Lisa’s journey with songwriting, performing and recording. Having played hundreds of shows across Sydney over the last decade including Folk in a Box at Sydney Festival, Finders Keepers Markets, Django Bar and The Porchlight Sessions just to name a few, Lisa Caruso is in the midst of creating new material for a debut record and we can’t wait to hear it.
This episode also includes songs from Georgia Mulligan, The Griswolds, Rachel Maria Cox, Leroy Lee, Nothing Rhymes With David and Cat Power. Lisa also performs her new songs “Be a Good Man” and “Cool and Cruel” live in studio.
