Nutritional Medicine Practitioner Fiona Kane and Cultural Activist Ian Zammit co-host Happy and Healthy: the podcast for people keen to live happier and healthier lives! In the eleventh episode of the series, which is streaming on demand below, we discuss Jill Bolte Taylor’s TED Talk which has been watched nearly 22 million times and her interview with Oprah on Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations podcast series.
Jill had a massive stroke in 1996 at the age of 37, her left brain went completely offline but her right brain remained conscious and aware of the experience she was having. Jill is a brain scientist who got to see a stroke from the inside! Fiona also had a much smaller stroke that same year at 25. We discuss how this experience affected Jill, how she lost her identity and became aware for the first time that we are all one human family. She learned what was important and what was not. This profoundly changed her life for the better and she is now sharing her important message with the world through her various talks and her book, My Stroke of Insight, A Brain Scientists Personal Journey.
