Episode 05 of Top of the World 2017 welcomes Detroit Michigan born Artist Amber Rae Slade to the Podcast. Amber, who has just recently become an Australian Resident, was born to a musical family whose capo business claims endorsees such as James Taylor, Vince Gill and Sugarland.

A trip to Nashville inspired a deep dive into her idols; Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson and Leadbelly and after living and performing around the famous musical city she travelled half way around the world where a professional and marital relationship with Producer and Golden Guitar Winner Matt Fell blossomed. Since landing in Australia, Amber Rae Slade and the Mighty Big Noise have become known on the Sydney music circuit as a dense and rhythmically entertaining live act that uses down and dirty baritone guitars and a looping array of percussion and drums to create a sound that more resembles a full band. The fourth episode of Top of the World for 2017 welcomes Psychedelic, Folk inspired artist Jack Millar to the Podcast. Jack is a 22 year-old Sydney based artist who has drawn similarities to Jose Gonzalez, Pink Floyd and Joanna Newsom. Jack released a single and video clip for his song “Mind Reader” on April 24 which he followed up with a launch show at Oxford Art’s Factory on May 4. “Mind Reader” is the first single from his forthcoming debut 7-track LP which was self-produced and self-recorded in his shed over a 30 day burst of inspiration. Jack plays all instrumentation on the LP including but not limited too keyboard, percussion and guitar and vocal overdubs. (more…)

The first episode of Top of the World for 2017 welcomes Sydney based artist, Lady Lyon to the program. Currently recording her debut EP, Lady Lyon belongs on stage in a grand old theatre, singing tales of heartbreak where the audience can nestle down into their red cushioned seats, and sit quietly in the pitch black breathing in that voice, those words and her atmosphere.
