Episode 10 of the podcast series Top of the World is a celebration, an ode of gratitude, love and appreciation for our dear departed friend, Karl Broadie.

In November, a Tribute Album was released called “Leave on a Light, the songs of Karl Broadie”. An album where the best in the Australian Country world and dear friends of Karl’s came together under the direction, vision and passion of Michael J Roberts to record Karl’s songs and offer a contribution to his incredible legacy. Kasey Chambers, Bill Chambers, Shane Nicholson, Felicity Urquhart, Katie Brianna, Caitlin Harnett, Den Hanrahan, Adam Young, Amali Ward, Kevin Bennett and the Flood, Dianna Corcoran, Michael Carpenter, Jasmine Rae, Aleyce Simmonds, Catherine Britt, Craig Johnston, John Kendall, Harry Hookey, Amber Lawrence, Alex Ryan, Luke O’Shea and Mickey Blue Eyes all created wonderfully diverse, rich and intimate recordings which is now available to buy on iTunes and in stores like JB Hi Fi across Australia.

With each album sold not only will the money go directly to Karl’s Sons (Oskar and Travis) Estate but the boys are generously organised for part of the album sales to go to Support Act and also the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse cancer treatment centre where Karl was so well looked after and supported in the final stages of his life.

In this month’s episode Mickey Blue Eyes and I will talk through and share music from this incredible album, share stories of the recording process, of Karl, of the upcoming Launch Event to be held at the Coogee Diggers on Thursday 8th December 2016 and to offer our love and gratitude to our musical community for their overwhelming support and love in making this album a reality.

Taryn La Fauci also performs her song “Map of the World” which was co-written with Karl Broadie and Mickey Blue Eyes performs Karl’s song “Hope is a Thief” live in Studio.

Taryn would also like to extend her heartfelt gratitude to Larry Heath and the AU Review for their continued support and promotion of Top of the World throughout 2016. It has been an amazing year sharing the air waves with wonderfully talented, passionate musicians and she hopes that everyone has a wonderful, safe, joyful and happy Christmas and New Year Break.
